Therapeutic Pool Services

Winchester Rehabilitation Center offers therapeutic pool services to individuals whose physicians prescribe the service. The therapeutic pool is a specially designed, indoor pool with a shallow depth (4-1/2 feet) that maintains a warm temperature of 92° F. The pool is accessible to all individuals with disabilities or injuries using adaptive stair, ramp or hydraulic lift. Patients do not need to know how to swim to utilize the pool, but must obtain written consent from a physician before admission will be permitted.

Pool physical therapy programs are designed by licensed physical therapists. Attendance to such programs requires an appointment as well as a physician’s prescription. Services are billed per hour through outpatient physical therapy to the patient’s health insurance provider.
