Therapeutic Pool Services
-
- Winchester Rehabilitation Center
offers therapeutic pool services to individuals whose physicians
prescribe the service. The therapeutic pool is a specially
designed, indoor pool with a shallow depth (4-1/2 feet) that
maintains a warm temperature of 92° F. The pool is accessible to
all individuals with disabilities or injuries using adaptive
stair, ramp or hydraulic lift. Patients do not need to know how
to swim to utilize the pool, but must obtain written consent
from a physician before admission will be permitted.

- Pool
physical therapy programs
are designed by licensed physical therapists. Attendance to such
programs requires an appointment as well as a physician’s
prescription. Services are billed per hour through outpatient
physical therapy to the patient’s health insurance provider.

Classes

Aquatics Arthritis

Beginner’s classes are designed for individuals with joint
limitation or pain including emphasis on increasing the range of
motion and strengthening of muscle groups. This is an ideal
class for new members or those just beginning to exercise.

- Aqua
Fit
is designed for the individual who wants an increased fitness
level. Classes include water aerobics, power workouts,
stretching and strengthening, which can lead to increased
cardiovascular endurance.

Toning
- This
class is designed for individuals who are interested in
increasing muscle tone, strength and range of motion through
water fitness, water weights and resistive devices. This
intermediate class is challenging and fun.

- Open
Swim
is available weekdays and weekends with a lifeguard on duty.
Please call for available times. Open swim is good for water
walking, relaxation or self-paced exercise.

- Memberships

Community Memberships
are open to all persons with disabilities or injuries who are 16
years or older. Members must be independent in dressing, hygiene
and pool entry. Members must complete and submit a participant
application and provide a physician’s referral.

$90.00 for 3 months

is available for all persons over the age of 16. Participants
must complete and submit an application and provide a
physician’s referral.

$75.00 for 3 months

- Pool participants wishing to
join a community membership may do so by signing up directly at
the pool. Payment may be made at that time.
