Day Rehabilitation
Program
Winchester Rehabilitation Center offers outpatient rehabilitation services
through the Day Program. The Day Program provides comprehensive
physical, occupational and speech therapy services that are a cost
effective alternative to inpatient hospital care.
Participants
in the Day Program may continue living at home, therefore
emphasizing their independence. Each patient learns how to achieve
their maximum potential through a program carefully designed for
their specific disability or injury.
The Day
Program serves
individuals
with neurological impairment, total joint replacement, or general debilitation;
individuals who require two or more hours of therapy a day; and
individuals requiring ongoing medical, nursing or educational needs.
Referrals are
accepted from physicians, healthcare professionals, and from a
patient or their family. Patients are screened on the basis of
individual rehabilitation potential and their desire to benefit from
a comprehensive day rehab program. A doctor’s order is required.
The Day
Program takes a team-approach to the rehabilitation needs of all patients. Team members
include:

rehabilitation physicians

rehabilitation nurses
-
case
managers
-
physical
therapists
-
occupational therapists
-
speech/language pathologist
-
Additional
professionals on a team may include:

a
neuropsychologist
-
a
therapeutic recreation specialist

an
adaptive driving instructor
Before being
admitted to the Day Program, patients will receive a comprehensive
evaluation to determine which rehabilitation services are needed.
Patients will then receive individualized treatment based on their
assessment. Staff members provide family training and conferences,
as well as patient and family counseling.
Patient Information
Patients
should arrive 15 minutes before their first appointment to register.
Please bring proof of insurance and all assistive devices and
adaptive equipment. Be sure to wear comfortable exercise clothing.
Bad Weather Policy
When the
Winchester City Schools are closed due to snow, listen for
cancellations on the radio or call Winchester Rehabilitation Center.
