After the Storm
Valley Health Offers
Support for Victims of Hurricane Katrina
Like millions of
Americans across the country, Valley Health
employees have opened their hearts and reached into
their pockets to rush aid to victims of Hurricane
Katrina. Throughout the system, collection jars have
been set up to accept donations from employees and
visitors alike, and efforts are likely to continue
long after the waters have receded. All financial
contributions collected by Valley Health will be
given to the American Red Cross, which has launched
one of its largest responses ever to a national
disaster.
In Winchester, money
was collected at various locations through this past
Tuesday.
In Front Royal,
donations will be collected through Friday,
September 16.
In Woodstock, a
collection jar will be available in Med/Surg through
September 23. In addition, nonperishable items,
including batteries, clothes, and personal hygiene
items are also being collected in Med/Surg.
VH employees are
also able to donate APL/PTO hours, with the value of
the donated hours being added to the disaster relief
fund. APL/PTO donations can be made through
September 23. To receive a form, contact either by
phone or email (in Winchester) Ann Coulter, ext.
68801, or Stephanie Kula, ext. 64073; (in Front
Royal) Tammy Stinson, ext. 33144; (in Woodstock)
Debbie Campisi, ext 31181.
With support from
the WMC Foundation, a team of 14 registered nurses
will spend two weeks on board Project Hope’s USNS
Comfort, which is now stationed in the Gulf region.
