HOSPITAL FOUNDATION
PLANNING 14TH ANNUAL FUNDRAISER
The Warren Memorial
Hospital Foundation is planning an evening of fun
and fundraising to benefit the hospital at the
fourteenth annual Casino Royale on Saturday, March
31, 7-11 p.m., at Shenandoah Valley Golf Club.
Casino Royale gives
guests the opportunity to play games such as
blackjack, Texas Hold ‘Em, roulette, craps, and
poker just for fun, using play money. The event will
open at 7 p.m. so guests can enjoy an hors d’oeuvres
buffet, preview the silent auction and check out the
casino tables before gaming begins at 7:30 p.m. The
evening will include drawings for a variety of
prizes, a 50/50 raffle and the silent auction. A
golf shot contest will give guests a chance to test
their skill and qualify to try for a 50-foot final
putt to split $10,000 with the Foundation.
Tickets are $50 per person, which includes admission
to the event, some play money for the casino games,
complimentary prize tickets, hors d'oeuvres and
beverages. Casino Royale guests must be at least 21
years old.
Admission tickets will not be available for purchase
at the door. For more information or to purchase
tickets, call 636-0398 or 536-5388.
Proceeds from this year’s event will help Warren
Memorial enhance its services and continue its
efforts to promote the Planetree philosophy of
patient-centered care. Recent Casino Royale events
have helped to refurbish the medical/surgical family
waiting room, a gathering space for patient and
family use that also offers on-line access to health
information. Proceeds from the 2006 event are being
used to
help make the Intensive Care Unit waiting area more
comfortable and welcoming for families.
A number of
businesses are supporting Casino Royale as
event sponsors, including the Shockey
Companies, Virginia Radiology Associates and
Piedmont Medical Laboratory.
In addition, area businesses and individuals
are donating prizes for the raffles and
silent auction.
