In 1970 Winchester Medical Center began providing focused care for heart patients in its dedicated coronary care unit, and quickly emerged as the regional leader in heart and vascular care, initiating its cardiology program with the opening of the first heart catheterization lab in 1984.

For 25 year, Winchester Medical Center has been providing advanced cardiovascular care to area residents. The medical staff for heart and vascular services now includes eighteen cardiologists, four thoracic & cardiovascular surgeons, three interventional radiologists, and one interventional neurologist, all board certified in their particular specialty.
