Winchester Rehabilitation Center offers outpatient rehabilitation services through the Day Program. The Day Program provides comprehensive physical, occupational and speech therapy services that are a cost effective alternative to inpatient hospital care.
DriveAbility is Winchester Rehabilitation Center’s adaptive driving program designed to assist people to drive again following an illness, injury or a physically limiting condition.
Low Vision Rehabilitation at Winchester Rehabilitation Center increases independence for individuals with visual impairments through the use of low vision devices, adaptive techniques and training. Patients benefiting from low vision rehabilitation have macular degeneration, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, a neurological injury or other visual impairments.
Pediatric services of physical, occupational and speech therapy can assist children in reaching their full potential. Working individually with each family, pediatric therapy services can help children improve their motor skills and strength, coordination, visual-motor abilities, self-help and daily living skills.
The Winchester Rehabilitation Center’s Speech/Language Pathology Department provides diagnostic, therapeutic, counseling, educational and referral services for patients who display communication or swallowing disorders due to disease, dysfunction or trauma. These services are delivered to acute care inpatients, outpatients, home health and Day Program patients. Speech/language pathologists diagnose and treat all aspects of speech/language disorders as well as a variety of swallowing problems.
Winchester Rehabilitation Center offers therapeutic pool services to individuals whose physicians prescribe the service. The therapeutic pool is a specially designed, indoor pool with a shallow depth (4-1/2 feet) that maintains a warm temperature of 92° F. The pool is accessible to all individuals with disabilities or injuries using adaptive stair, ramp or hydraulic lift. Patients do not need to know how to swim to utilize the pool, but must obtain written consent from a physician before admission will be permitted.
The Wheelchair Seating and Positioning Clinic through Winchester Rehabilitation Center assists primary wheelchair users to achieve optimum independence, positioning, and comfort in the use of their wheelchair and seating system. These can include: manual wheelchairs, power/electric wheelchairs, scooters, back systems, and seat systems.
Winchester Rehabilitation Center’s goal is to promote the health of women by providing outpatient therapy services targeted toward females. Many health problems, while not unique to women, are diagnosed more in women than in men. There is treatment to help.
