Dr. Glembot is the Medical Director of the Winchester Medical Center Bariatric Program.  A native of Warrenton, VA, he attended Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA where he received his medical degree and completed his general surgery residency and research fellowship.  Bariatric surgery is Dr. Glembot’s passion having completed numerous procedures before the program ended in 2003.  He believes that bariatric surgery is a unique discipline and relates “it is very satisfying to see the improvements in a person’s health that occurs after this life saving procedure.”  Dr. Glembot has completed specialized training in the placement of the Adjustable Gastric Banding System and  received training during his surgical residency to perform the gastric bypass.  As Medical Director, Dr. Glembot is responsible for overseeing the entire program and ensuring that all components are well integrated to make bariatric surgery as safe as possible for all patients.

Jim Wiedower, MD, FACS
Bariatric Surgeon
Dr. Wiedower earned his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, AR.  He traveled east, from his home state of Arkansas, to his general surgery residency at the Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA.  He then moved to Winchester in 1983.  Dr. Wiedower also completed specialized training in the placement of the Adjustable Gastric Banding System and received gastric bypass surgery training during his residency.  He belongs to numerous medical and surgical associations and he “likes to operate!”  He is most excited about the bariatric program because it gives him “the ability to assist patients
in getting their lives back.  Bariatric patients are the most motivated and appreciative patients I have ever had the opportunity to work with.”

Lakuma Mogili, MD
Psychiatry
Dr. Mogili completed her residency at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH.  She has been employed with Valley Health for 2 years and has graciously accepted a position within the team to “help patients through this potentially difficult time to ensure the success of their surgery.”  Her role on the multidisciplinary team is to perform pre-operative psychiatric evaluations and provide ongoing patient and family support to prepare and help cope with post surgery behavioral changes and coping skills.

Tina Shelton, RN
 Program Coordinator
Tina brings tremendous work experience to the bariatric program.  As a Valley Health employee, Tina has held various positions within the operating room and worked closely with the previous bariatric program, which sparked her interest in this position.  She attended Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, WV where she graduated with a degree in nursing.  Tina’s role on the team is multifaceted as she helps to manage many components of the bariatric program.

Susan Lessar, RD Program Dietitian
Susan is very excited to be back in the Winchester area.  Born and raised in Stephens City, she attended Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC where she graduated with a BS in Human Nutrition.  Since 1998, Susan has worked in clinical dietetics, disease management, and private practice.  Throughout her career, weight management has always been Susan’s main area of interest and expertise.  She “loves the interaction with her patients and watching them become successful at making nutrition and lifestyle changes.”  The dietitian’s role on the bariatric team is to provide pre and post operative education, ensure optimal nutrition, and help with problem solving in relation to post-surgical nutrition challenges you may face.  Susan will also be the support group facilitator.

Candi Riggleman, Office Manager
Candi is another member on the team, from the Winchester area, and is the friendly voice you hear when you call the office.  She assists with scheduling appointments and also helps with insurance claims.  She has worked for Valley Health for 7 years as a cashier, intake representative, and branch manager of Valley Home Care in Woodstock before joining the Bariatric team.  Candi is currently pursuing a degree in Business Management.  She is very excited to work with the bariatric program as it gives her “the opportunity to make a difference.”

Connie Pugh, LPN
We are very pleased to introduce the newest member of the bariatric team.  Connie recently accepted the position and will join us towards the end of September.  She is equally as excited to work with the bariatric program – having had the surgery herself in 2002.
