Ways to Help

Wellspring brings together healthcare, community, and supportive services to address the needs of the “whole” person experiencing cancer and other chronic diseases. Located at 525 Amherst Street in Winchester, next to Valley Home Care, the center can help patients and their families find resources they need to improve their quality of life during and after treatment, as well as assist with image recovery services as needed.

Wellspring offers a variety of products for people whose physical appearance and self-image are affected during treatment and recovery. The center stocks body and skin care products for people dealing with skin-related side effects, oral care products for dry mouth or mouth sores, shampoos and other hair care products for thinning hair, lingerie and swimsuits for mastectomy patients, wigs and wig accessories, turbans, hats and scarves.

People looking for gifts may select from colorful handmade vests, jackets, hats, scarves and bags, tissue packs, journals, glasses cases, ice packs and more. Wellspring also stocks awareness bracelets and other jewelry.

The center has been designed to create a warm, inviting and comfortable environment from the retail product display area to the more private areas. Those who need a few minutes of quiet can seek out the meditation space with its soothing water fountain. The center features a full-service salon. There is a private room for post-mastectomy prosthetic fittings, offered in partnership with Valley Home Care, and for massage therapy services by appointment.

An education and resource center with Internet access helps patients and families navigate through health-related resources. A conference room provides space for support group meetings and programs, and a nearby sitting area offers a spot to relax with a cup of tea or coffee.
